4.75" x 3" 8th Century B.C. ship went down, amphora lay on Mediterranean seafloor and the corks rotted. Over time sediment flowed in and centuries later amphora were brought to land and the sediment within was tested--determined to have carried wine. Interior glaze is celadon, assembled from refined materials. |
