My metaphorical way of seeing is why I sometimes put red glass in the center when I use material from the mid-Atlantic Ridge. We can't see the molten core of Earth but eruptions of magma glow brightly and they do glow red at some stages (even under water!). The sheerness of the Earth crust slurry on the inside and outside of the bowl, I love.
On porcelain clay, the speckled band around the red center is sediment from the K-T Band.
Words say:dinosaur-killing cloud of extraterrestrial dust from the K-T Band and Earth's crust.
