Lower exterior is slurry from rocks cut from the mid-Atlantic Ridge at the Kane Fracture Zone. The band above it has some iridium from the Cretacious Tertiary boundary.
Interior is a celadon glaze assembled from refined materials that was in a reducing atmosphere in the kiln; unburned fuel created smoke that made the glaze bluish green, a result of trapped carbon in the glaze. The thumbwell is filled with blue sea-glass.

The Earth crust slurry is on the exterior with the brush marks where some was removed while wet. The band above that is the sediment glaze from the iridium layer, aka K-T Band. Interior glaze assembled from refined materials is a traditional celadon. Blue glass thumbwell.
