A thirty square mile area south of Martha's Vineyard is covered with sandy mud, some of which I applied to leather-heard clay and pushed off with a wooded stick (the striped area). On unglazed clay, piled eel grass melted down into lines of ash glaze and orange blushes (where salt intereacted with clay during firing). Lavender matte glaze band, and foot assembled from refined materials.
