"Where birds live on wind", so says writer Scott Weidensaul in his book, "Living on the Wind: Across the Hemisphere With Migratory Birds". R/V Oceanus cruise 326 in July 1998 retrieved sediment from Emerald Basin about 60 miles southeast of Nova Scotia at 45˚ 53’north, 62˚ 48’west.

Copper green glaze on central fish also colored the mat glaze on the rim, by volatilized copper vapors interacting with matte glaze, making pinks and greens (more wind, in this case air being drawn through the kiln by the chimney). Blue seaglass in the groove surrounding the words.
