Purchases:

A note from Joan . . . I wear all of the many hats here at the The Soft Earth, including making and firing pots, photography, store inventories, packing, shipping, and office work, which is why it sometimes takes a few days to get an order out the door. I can promise good intentions, but not the service you can expect from a fully staffed retail company.

Please, feel free to contact me for more information if it helps you before committing to a purchase.

Pickup at Studio:

If you are able, and prefer to purchase work for pickup in person at The Soft Earth studio, you may bypass ordering through Yahoo checkout by calling me or e-mailing.

I will need the item number, a brief description, and your credit card info (over the phone) to hold pieces more than a day. Personal checks are welcome too. If you prefer to purchase on-line and pickup at the studio, choose "no shipping needed" option in the UPS drop-down menu at checkout. State sales tax of 5% is added to sales in Massachusetts.

Shipping Information:

Please leave adequate time for processing and shipping of orders, which I do on weekdays only. Shipping is automatically calculated during checkout. Customer pays shipping costs. I pay all packing costs. State sales tax of 5% is added to sales in Massachusetts.

I insure pieces, and have never had breakage in this country using U.P.S.

Returns:

Keep in mind, all glazes are from unrefined materials and imperfections are normal.

If you purchase something that you feel was misrepresented, or that you don’t want, I will refund the purchase price minus a restocking fee of 10%, under the condition that it is undamaged and postmarked within five days of receipt by the customer.

Purchaser is expected to pay all shipping costs, including the recommended insurance to return the piece to The Soft Earth, using return address on the shipping label.
