This one shows how reduced iron in the clay speckled up into the glaze making a metallic reflective area that shimmers in different reflecting light environments. | 4" x 3.5" Top third is the sediment that began to slide onto the lavender glaze and where the two materials interacted the flow of the marine sediment was slowed by the mattness of the lavender glaze. What happened there also is that the foraminifera shells in the mud stayed suspended as sparkles--fossilized remains of climate-change indicators that once were alive organisms. This is like one weather system on one side and another on the other--evenly applied sediment flowed in this way because of how the flame circulated. The zone of interaction always fascinates me. . . I get lost there.
