These are my favorites for how I feel connected as a blood-relative, to the ever-changing gooey core that seeps and erupts, spreading huge forces -- that it could be so versatile and sometimes translucent! From drillings into the Mid-Atlantic Ridge and some combine Havre volcano's pumice/mud.

Earth Crust on Porcelain Thick and Thin
Earth Crust on Porcelain Thick and Thin

4.5" high x 3.25" wide

Brown area is a dip of rock slurry from Mid-Atlantic Ridge that, when wet, was brushed quickly to remove enough that when strong light hits the exterior it moves thru the translucent clay wall slightly.

Interior is a shiny brown glaze and top exterior was dipped in a matte green -- both assembled from refined materials.

20.5" x 20.5" on 12mm silk satin, to be used as a hanging or as wearable art: an excerpt -- a blown up detail of Mid-Atlantic Ridge rock slurry that I applied heavily and then, during firing, it re-assembled into these shapes.

Molten Earth to Rock to Glaze (on porcelain)
Molten Earth to Rock to Glaze (on porcelain)

4.75" x 4.5"

Red is often human's symbol for intense heat (fire), which is why I like the red glass thumbwell on this porcelain mug that's glazes with remagmized rock slurry from the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.

Interior glaze is shiny white and when sun hits the exterior, light shines thru the thin wash of Earth crust slurry.
