Mud Patch (off Martha's Vineyard) and Narragansett Bay

5.5" x 2.25"

On translucent porcelain, words written with a few brush-hairs say, "In: Narragansett Bay Out: Mud Patch thirty square mile area south of Martha's Vineyard". Find a map about the the Mud Patch area in the Collected Mud Stories section of Joan Lederman's blog.

Non-brown glazes on the lip and foot show some pink color that resulted from volatilized copper that moved through the kiln chamber, pulled by the suction of the chimney. The matte white and copper green glazes were assembled from refined materials. The center is seaglass.
