Says: center of basalt and glass framed by Earth crust from mid-Atlantic Ridge framed by "Snowball Earth" framed by Galapagos dredge.
Mid-Atlantic Ridge and Galapagod dredge are both volcanic in origin, although I have no chemical analysis to compare, they help me contemplate the forces at work within Earth's deeper layers and how they relate to each other.
Back surface is glaze assembled from refined materials.

On porcelain clay, words say: "Snowball Earth" floating above a molten core. Exterior glaze is mid-Atlantic Ridge rock slurry applied to a textured surface.

"Snowball Earth" rock powder on the exterior. Shiny white glaze assembled from refined materials interior.

 6.75" x 2"
Words on rim say, "Snowball Earth 635 million years ago ice (or slush) at the equator (?) ask this melted Namibian rock powder."
The piece is a play on colorlessness; I used clear sea glass in the center, the rock powder, a matte white and a shiny white glaze on white clay.

Gakkle Ridge lava shards from 85° N 85° E suspended in seaglass center framed by remagmized earth crust 23.5°N 45°W . . . . Costa Rican Accretionary Prism subduction zone colliding plates . . . . 635 million year old Namibian rock of "Snowball Earth"? And a randomly/perfectly-placed whoops! above the word "colliding".
Shiny rim and matte green back are glazes assembled from refined materials.

Seaglass center framed by sediment from Namibia, a place said to be a deposit from 650 million years ago, when the Earth was mostly covered by glaciers. That material is framed by Galapagos, framed by Kane Fracture Zone. Click for larger images, and read the words.

Gakkel Ridge stretches from Greenland to Siberia and the lava granules from there (85°N 85°E) are suspended in the sea glass center. Framing that are words saying ~ Kane Fracture Zone 23.5°N 45°W ~ "Snowball Earth" Namibia ~ "ALL" north south east west ~ Costa Rican Accretionary Prism subducting. Back of ALL applied thinly and shiny brown and green matter are glazes assembled from refined materials.

Snowball Earth, Northern Galapagos Seamounts and Mid-Atlantic Ridge Earth crust drillings, in that order, emanate from a center of sea glass.

A play on whites--Namibian rock powder from a layer said to be from about 635 million years ago is on the exterior lower area. Above is matte white and inside is a shiny white. The latter two are glazes assembled from refined materials.

 3.75" x 3.25"
Namibian rock layer reports (is it being interpreted accurately?) that about 635 million years ago Earth was covered with slush or ice--even at the equator. Exterior is this rock powder melted. Interior glaze assembled from refined materials.

The center of ALL configured melted and slid over the high ridges in the spiral and pooled between those ridges. Back says: Center of "ALL" framed by Kane Fracture Zone 25.5°N 45°W, 1.5 to 2.5 million years remagmized Earth-bricks and 635 million year old Namibian rock "Snowball Earth".
The exterior bottom says, "Dips into buckets from north south east west. ALL.
Green matte rim is glaze assembled from refined materials. $1400.00

 14" x 1.5"
Says: Center of glass and gold framed by Earth crust slurry melted framed by "ALL" layers mixed from north, south, east, west framed by 9°45' south 175°45'west & "Snowball Earth". (Amazing roll of the Snow-Ball earth material as it encroaches but does not overflow onto the writing.)
The back is glazed with the same Lau Basin material whose coordinates are specified on the front.
There is a photo of the piece before firing that shows the pile of gold leaf flakes sprinkled atop the seaglass center.

Says: Earth covered by ice 635 million years ~ still spinning ~ hard crust around a molten core. HERE: basalt and glass center framed by subducting residue, spreading crust, "ALL" mud and Namibia (arrow points to rock powder on the rim).
I have a photo of this before firing and the center is red glass and basalt granules. The back is "ALL" (dips into buckets from north, south, east, west plus siliceous and carbonate materials) applied thinly.
Glaze on rim that's matte white and green, assembled from refined materials.

Says: Center of glass and Gakkel Ridge framed by Earth crust from mid-Atlantic Ridge at Kane Fracture Zone framed by rock powder from Namibia at time of "Snowball Earth".
Brown rim is the same material applied thinly as is broken up into Rectangular bricks (applied thickly). The Namibian rock powder is visibly influenced by the stoneware clay underneath it, as the thickness varies on the chattered clay surface.
Glaze on back is matte, assembled from refined materials.

Center outward: "ALL" layers of mud from north, south, east, west framed by Kane Fracture Zone, a spreading mid-ocean ridge framed by "snowball Earth" (Namibian rock) framed by a subducting Pacific plate". How many stories can one piece point to? The Pacific plate material closest to the rim is from Costa Rican Accretionary Prism where plates collide and friction makes heat--enough to melt the sediment. Ask geologists . . . .
